Shack in the Woods

The weather has been so great we decided to build a new fort and used this stick laying technique.
You start with a long solid stick and prop it up on a couple of Y shaped sticks. Then you lean similar sized sticks at an angle against the long solid stick until you create a space big enough to crawl into like a tent.

Here is another picture from farther away. You can see that it is camouflaged against the background terrain.

Tree Fort

[front side]
This is a tree house that all of the kids got in on!
It was tough work, but we finally finished it.

This is how it started:
  1. First it was the tree
  2. Then it was the base
  3. After that it was the sides
  4. And last but not least the roof
And now its all finished and we can play in it!!!

[back side]
This is the back of the tree fort.
From the picture you can see we used random pieces of lumber left over from other construction projects.

Hand Wacked Forest Trails

My brother and I thought that it would be fun to be able to explore the surrounding hills in our area.  So my brother and I set out in a new unknown place on our property, me with my hoe/stick and my brother with his metal bar and stick! Now my brother Rivyr and I have tons of pathways in the woods we can play in and we clear them all with sticks!

Simple Dart Target

This is my younger brother, Rivyr, pulling darts after we set the target up!

This is me painting the awesome dart target!

How To make your own Dart Target:
What you'll need

one large stump
one small stump
paint brush
paint
darts

First, set the large stump vertical. Next, put the small  stump side ways on top of the large stump. Then, get your color of paint and paint brush, and  paint 3 circles and a big dot in the middle of the smaller stump.
Now you are ready to throw darts!
